Milan Fashion Week best runway looks
- Gucci: Gucci is known to create not just designer outfits but also trend that get encrusted in your mind and the fashion scene for decades to come. Their classic selling horse bit shoe is still one of the most successful products that adorns the feet of every new millionaire on the block. The current collection showcased at the Milan Fashion Week 2020 doesn’t fall short of any thing but glam. The in-cut gowns, the beautiful halter dresses with delicate embroidery care definitely underscore the Gucci is all about Classics and not just basic fashion trends.
- Missoni: Angela Missoni wins the location-of-the-week award. She staged her Spring show in the Bagni Misteriosi, a giant public pool in the Porta Romana neighborhood of Milan, with 1,000 guests arrayed on the Missoni knit cushions that decorated the wooden amphitheater surrounding it. As spaces go, it was positively monumental. That put a lot of pressure on the clothes, but this collection was as good as Missoni gets. Just suits and dandyish separates for the guys, and for the girls bohemian dresses with the occasional slouched-on shirt or masculine jacket worn over the top. So simple it almost sounds basic, but that’s where the house signature knits come in. Space-dyes, stripes, zigzags, polka dots, crochet, patchwork, ombrés—they were all in play. More often than not several came together in one outfit.
- Lorenzo Serafini: On the Milan Fashion Week 2020 runway, Serafini hewed closely to the royal sisters’ ’80s silhouettes. What gave them their modern gloss was a 21st-century insistence on ease. Caroline’s jackets were Chanel tweed; these were bisected by marinière stripes for a more low-key vibe. In a flip of that script, Serafini also showed jean jackets and bustier tops made from tightly woven denim tweed. Of course, there were party dresses. Serafini cut them short, ruffled, and cinched at the waist, in shades of sugar-coated pink, red, or white. The crystal-studded black minidress was made from eco-leather. Another idea that felt very today: the short-in-front, long-in-back going-out top worn with jean shorts.
